Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A pseudo-traction force (pulling illusion) is induced when presenting asymmetric vibrations to the fingertips.
An illusory limb movement in which the muscle extends (kinesthetic illusion) is perceived when applying vibrations on the tendon.
While the force feedback using these phenomena can be achieved with small and lightweight systems, there are limitations on the intensity of the perceived force.
In this study, we propose to simultaneously present a user with asymmetric vibration to his/her fingertips to induce the pulling illusion, and symmetric vibration to his/her tendons on his/her inner side of the wrist to induce the kinesthetic illusion of wrist dorsiflexion.
As a result, the perceived force of combining the pulling and kinesthetic illusion was significantly stronger than that perceived by the pulling illusion alone.
