Effectiveness of Analysis Training of Textbooks Using the ISM Materials Structuring Method -- A Case Study of Application for Social Study --

(in English) The purpose of this study was to develop training for understanding the structure of knowledge contained in textbooks. For this purpose, we developed a system for creating a chart of the structure of ISM materials, designed a training course in which students were asked to analyze multiple textbooks, and analyzed the learning obtained by one prospective teacher of elementary school social studies. The results of the analysis revealed the possibility of promoting the prospective teacher's understanding of the differences in the elements and structures of the different textbooks, and of helping learners to become aware of the differences in the social perceptions they can learn from the textbooks. It also revealed the possibility of inferring differences in the structure of a wider range of units and the intentions of their authors from the domain and scope of some of the textbooks.
