Graph states are entangled states that are useful for several quantum information processing tasks including measurement-based quantum computation. As the size of graph states realized in experiment increases, it becomes essential to devise efficient methods for estimating the fidelity between the ideal state and an experimentally-realized actual state that suffers from some noise. However, calculation of the fidelity of large graph states is difficult due to the fact that the number of stabilizers increases exponentially. In this work, we show that the fidelity of graph states in presence of the depolarizing noise can be mapped to the partition function of a classical spin system. We calculate the fidelity of the cluster states in 1D, 2D, and 3D by evaluating the partition function of the corresponding classical spin system. We find that the fidelity of the 3D cluster state exhibits quantum phase transition towards the maximally mixed state. |
