Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) To realize an ultra-coverage expansion that Beyond 5G aims for at low cost, the construction of a data-carrying relay network is being considered. It is a type of delay tolerant network in which data received by a drone equipped with a wireless communication device is temporarily stored and then wirelessly transmitted after the drone has flown to its destination. Using radio waves of ultra-high frequency band, such as millimeter waves, enables short transmission times with high capacity, but the directivity becomes high and the communication spot is spatially limited. Therefore, in order to transmit more data, a multiple communication spots that are set up sequentially in a distributed manner in which drones collect data from there can be considered. However, conventional wireless LAN standards require long transmission intervals for beacon frames and link establishment times, which may reduce the amount of data. In this paper, we propose a new method for applying IEEE 802.15.3e, a wireless PAN standard that can start communication in a very short period of time. In the proposed method, we used Gazebo, a three-dimensional robotics simulation software, to simulate the change in signal reception strength and the accumulated data transfer volume. The results showed that the proposed method can transfer a maximum of 680 MB more data when 802.15.3e is applied.
