A study on transpotation network based on OD Flow in Utsunomiya city

(in English) In this paper, we propose a method for designing a transportation network based on OD flows in Utsunomiya City.
First, we consider the placement of transportation hubs, which serve as transfer points for each regional base.
In determining the placement of these hubs, we solve the facility location problem using mathematical optimization methods and assign them to actual facilities, enabling a more realistic design of the transportation network.
Next, we design bus routes that connect these hubs. At this stage, we estimate the OD flows based on the differences in population distribution between nighttime and daytime populations.
Additionally, we set route points that indicate the extent to which major roads are included in the connected bus routes.
By incorporating the OD flows and route points into the objective function and combining each route, we design an appropriate transportation network for Utsunomiya City.
