Consideration of improvement of learning materials using eye tracking data in virtual world

(in English) This paper introduces MetaSuku, a virtual learning platform that provides classrooms for lectures and self-study in a virtual world. In this study, we developed a system that allows users to watch lecture videos and collect their gaze data in the self-study classrooms of MetaSuku. From the collected gaze data, it is possible to extract information on which parts of the video the users gazed at in chronological order. In the demonstration experiment, we evaluated the psychological and physical load caused by using MetaSuku, the usefulness of improving teaching materials through the analysis of gaze data, and the educational and learning effects. As a result, the group with low learning effect was able to understand that the group with high learning effect did not pay attention to important content in the teaching materials, the degree of eye opening was reduced, and the number of blinks increased, resulting in decreased concentration. This was a useful result in that it is possible to improve teaching materials to address specific issues.
