(in English) In recent years, automotive radar-based brake assist systems and autonomous driving technologies using millimeter-wave radar have been attracting attention. This technology uses millimeter-wave radar to detect obstacles ahead and provide
brake assistance, but the accuracy of detecting obstacles ahead is a very important factor to eliminate malfunctions. Because a vehicle changes direction while driving, we believe that measuring and understanding the radio wave reflection characteristics
of the vehicle viewed from various directions using an automotive radar will be useful for the hardware design and development of signal processing algorithms for automotive radar with high target detection accuracy. In this paper, we therefore performed 3D image reconstruction using cylindrical scanning of a millimeter-wave radar. As a first step, in this experiment, we verified whether image reconstruction using a 24 GHz millimeter-wave radar is possible using a corner reflector as a target, and show the results.
