(in English) In recent years, school refusal has become a serious problem, and the number of truant students in primary and secondary schools has surged to approximately 300,000. In addition to conventional educational support centers and free schools, some regions have begun to introduce educational support using a virtual space (metaverse) under the initiative of local governments as a place for students who have not been attending school. However, awareness of such programs is still low and there are only a few examples of such initiatives. In this research, the university's Metaverse Lab will be customized to realize and operate “Meta-Largo,” a metaverse educational support classroom where students who tend to be truant from school in the region can spend time in peace, through industry-academia-government collaboration. In addition to educational support specialists and university students enrolled in teaching courses, “Meta-Largo” will be staffed with AI avatars and AI avatars will be able to chat with and talk to the students. The AI analyzes the learner's conversation and behavior with the AI avatar to optimize individualized educational support, thereby reducing the burden on the avatar support staff (human).
