ViT for Face Spoofing Attack Detection

(in English) Face recognition has been widely used in person authentication systems since it is one of the most cost-effective and convenient biometrics. On the other hand, face recognition systems are designed to be robust against changes in facial pose, illumination, and blurring during image capture. There is a possibility that a malicious person can spoof a user by presenting a photo of the registered face. Therefore, it is necessary to detect such spoofing before face recognition is performed. Major spoofing attack detection methods using Vision Transformer (ViT) have been proposed to detect minute differences between a real face image and a spoofed face image. In this paper, we propose a loss function during training and a score calculation method during inference using the intermediate features of ViT to detect spoofing attacks with high accuracy. Through a set of experiments using public datasets, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
