Two-stage Track Association Algorithm Using Radar and Camera Fusion

(in English) Sensor fusion is expected to improve tracking performance by Track-to-Track Association of observation values from sensors with different characteristics, such as millimeter-wave radar and cameras. However, position values converted from camera pixels have low position accuracy in the range direction and cannot be associated and integrated with the position detected by millimeter-wave radar of the same target, resulting in issues such as wrong tracking and tracking failures. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a sensor fusion method of millimeter-wave radar and camera using direction cosines and velocity vector. This shows the evaluation results of the tracking performance of a conventional method using position in the vehicle tracking experiment on the test course. We plan to report the results comparing the proposed method using direction cosines and velocity vectors with the conventional method.
