Optical signal transmission in optical fibers is subject to inter-symbol interference due to wavelength dispersion and non-linear optical effects, which affect signal transmission. We have investigated a reception method that can remove signal noise and separate time-division multiplexed signals using an optical correlation receiver that takes the product of the complex conjugate of the received optical signal and the reference optical signal (local light) and detects the integral value as the output signal. In order to address the signal quality degradation caused by non-linear optical effects, the effect of an optical FIR filter configured with a pulse train as the reference light for the correlation receiver to improve the reception characteristics of the N-OTDM signal was investigated in this study. |
