[Poster Presentation] Augmentation of Asynchronous Data for Acoustic Scene Classification Using Asynchronous Distributed Microphone Arrays

(in English) In this study, we propose a data augmentation method that simulates asynchronous recordings caused by sampling time offset (STO). In acoustic scene classification using distributed microphone arrays, it is possible to leverage spatial information over a wide area. However, the calculation of spatial information requires synchronization among recording devices. In practical applications, STO may occur due to various factors, such as transmission delays between recording devices or differences in starting recording time. Previous studies have demonstrated that the performance of acoustic scene classification degrades with STO when a model trained on synchronized data is used. To address this issue, the data augmentation method simulates asynchronous recordings caused by STO through time shifts of synchronized recordings. In evaluation experiments, we confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method.
