Recently, several plans of developing technology on the lunar surface are being promoted by various countries, such as Artemis project, which aims to explore resources and establish manned bases on the lunar surface. In the lunar surface developing plans, it is necessary to apply a positioning method that assumes the use of lunar orbiting satellites for controlling the rovers safely and accurately.
In this study, a lunar surface positioning system using single lunar orbiting satellite with constant altitude is assumed as the positioning method using Doppler shift (FOA: frequency of arrival) and measurement distance between satellite and receiver (TOA: time of arrival). Furthermore, computer simulation is conducted for evaluating and analyzing the improvement of the positioning accuracy in the case of multiple observation of Doppler shift and satellite-receiver distance. As a result, it would be concluded that the position detection error is significantly improved by increasing the number of observation times and lengthening the measurement interval of ∆t. |
