| 抄録 | （和） | This paper examines the diversity of sentence-final expressions in English, Chinese, and Japanese (ENG, CHI, and JPN). I analyze 165 ENG tag questions in the Harry Potter movies and their translations in the movies dubbed into CHI and JPN. Especially, I focus on how the tag questions appear in the translations and how rising and falling tones of ENG tag question affect the translations. I find an interesting connection between the structural patterns in CHI and ENG tones. The results suggest that each structural pattern in CHI has a specific function related to the level of speaker-oriented or hearer-oriented intention. |
