Chemical Bath Deposition of ZnO Nanorods Layers for UV Light Detecting Applications

Structural properties of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods (NRs) layers prepared by chemical bath deposition (CBD) and electrical and ultraviolet (UV) light detecting properties of PEDOT:PSS/ZnO NRs/ZnO:Ga (GZO) heterostructures were examined in terms of pH adjustment and Al doping to the CBD solutions. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) observations revealed that the CBD solutions with pH ranging from 9.9 to 11.0 resulted in thin and long NRs and those with pH ranging from 6.5 to 8.0 resulted in thick and short ones. The former exhibited high rectification ratios and photocurrents under the irradiation of 370 nm line. It was also confirmed that the Al doping in the CBD solution contributed to the increases in device conductivity and rectification ratio, but resulted in the decrease in photocurrent. |
