A Study On Dynamic Selection of Measured Distances for Indoor Positioning Using TOA Based on FTM

(in English) In this study, we performed ranging using the FTM (Fine Timing Measurement) protocol. Some of the obtained ranging values are dropped out, and localization is performed using the remaining values. We propose two dropout methods: Static Dropout, in which the number of values to be dropped is fixed in advance, and Dynamic Dropout, in which the number is determined dynamically. In Dynamic Dropout, the triangle inequality and its inverse are applied based on the triangle formed by the transmitter and receivers. Localization experiments using Maximum Likelihood Estimation and lateration show that applying Dynamic Dropout results in the best accuracy in both methods. Furthermore, Dynamic Dropout appropriately drop ranging values with large errors.
