This paper studies application of the continuous-time hysteresis neural network (CT-HYN) to clustering for the large-scale S-P charts.
The network is a simple continuous-time recurrent neural network characterized by binary hysteresis activation function.
The dynamics is described by a piecewise linear differential equation and precise calculation of the dynamics is possible.
The S-P chart is a binary data set consisting of score vectors of students.
It can provides useful information to help instructors.
However, as number of students increases, the S-P chart becomes hard to handle.
We have presented a CT-HYN based clustering method that classifies the large-scale S-P charts into small-scale S-P charts.
Using an artificial large S-P chart, the clustering function is investigated.
In the evaluation of the clustering, the caution index and classification uniformity are used. |
