The stability change between two types of stationary ILMs, namely the Sievers-Takeno (ST) mode and the Page (P) mode, is known as a phenomenon that enhances the mobility of high-energy moving ILMs. Particularly in the mixed lattices with quartic nonlinearity in both the on-site and the coupling potential, it has been clarified that the balance between these nonlinearities is the factor causing the stability change.
In this study, we consider a mixed scalar lattice with an arbitrary bonding number and analytically derive the energy difference between the ST and P modes in the high-energy limit, assuming a strongly localized state.
The results reveal that for bonding number 3 or higher, the stability change does not occur even when adjusting the balance of nonlinearities. |
