Job Recommendation Based on Latent Skills Estimation from Self-Promotion Texts using a Graph Attention Network

(in English) This study aims to support job seekers’ career decision-making by developing a model that estimates latent skills from self-promotion texts and recommends suitable occupations based on those skills, with a particular focus on individuals who have little or no work experience. Conventional job recommendation methods typically rely on work histories or domain-specific skills described in résumés, making them difficult to apply to job seekers without prior employment experience.

In this study, we focus on self-promotion texts as an alternative source of information and construct a graph based on semantic similarity between self-promotion texts under the hypothesis that “individuals with similar experiences possess similar skills.” A Graph Attention Network (GAT) is employed to estimate latent skills.
