Validation of Performance-Based Aeronautical Surveillance System based on Traffic Flow

(in English) Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) and ADS-B in the 1030/1090 MHz bands are vital for the safety and efficiency of modern Air Traffic Management. However, increasing signal traffic raises concerns about interference and performance degradation, particularly in the 1090 MHz band used by ADS-B and ACAS.
This study conducted flight experiments using a research aircraft to measure the actual signal environment on major airways, anticipating future traffic growth and new technology integration. By analyzing the correlation between measured signal occupancy and air traffic density, this paper discusses the characteristics of the signal environment surrounding aircraft to ensure future surveillance integrity.
