Potassium sodium niobate (KxNa1−xNbO3, KNN) is a promising lead-free piezoelectric material as an alternative to lead zirconate titanate (PZT). In this study, hydrothermal synthesis was employed to fabricate fine KNN powders with a K0.5Na0.5NbO3 composition for the development of high-performance KNN ceramics. The effects of solution concentration, KOH/NaOH ratio, and reaction time on phase formation, crystal structure, particle size, and composition were investigated. High-concentration conditions favored single-phase KNN formation but promoted particle growth. In contrast, a low solution concentration of 4.5 mol/L with a prolonged reaction time of 72 h enhanced KNN phase formation and yielded finer powders, indicating a promising condition for further optimization. |
