Derivation of Failure Modes and Generation of Countermeasures to Them from System Description by LLM

(in English) This paper proposes a process for performing anomaly analysis based on system descriptions written in natural language by large language models (LLMs). Nouns in system descriptions denote system structure, verbs denote behavior, and modifiers can signify deviations from expected behavior. Based on this idea, the proposed process performs morphological analysis on system descriptions, uses an LLM to generate a list of words that can modify the nouns and verbs in the results, and then derives failure modes, their effects, and countermeasures while considering the behavior of system stakeholders. Experiments comparing the proposed process with a na"ive process that directly generates failure modes, their effects, and countermeasures from system descriptions showed both were practical; however, the proposed process was confirmed to derive failure slightly better and generate their effects and countermeasures in a more consistent form.
