In this paper, we propose a multiple target tracking filter to improve the accuracy of vehicle trajectory estimation using millimeter-wave MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) radar in environments with multiple stationary objects. The objective of this study is to achieve self-localization based on vehicle motion using an all-weather vehicle-mounted millimeter-wave MIMO radar. Using the radar, a distance-angle spectrum is generated based on reflected signals from surrounding stationary objects. From this spectrum, the relative positions of surrounding objects can be estimated. We propose a highly accurate self-localization method that utilizes Kalman filter-based tracking and Iterative Closest Point (ICP) matching on multi-object position data. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated using measured data. |
