With the development of autonomous driving technologies, the importance of infrastructure that supports real-time car-traffic monitoring and stable communication has been increasing. This study focuses not on optimizing car-traffic congestion mitigation and communication performance independently, but on how their coordinated control affects real-world car-traffic performance. We propose a cyber-physical simultaneous optimization method that integrates car-traffic control (physical space) and communication load balancing (cyber space). In an environment using the traffic simulator SUMO (Simulation of Urban Mobility), traffic signals are controlled through deep reinforcement learning, which aims to simultaneously alleviate car-traffic congestion and balance the number of RSU (Roadside Unit) or BS (Base Station) connections. Experiments at single and multiple intersections were conducted to evaluate whether the method can simultaneously reduce total vehicle waiting time and balance RSU/BS load. |
