EEG(Electroencephalogram)-based emotion recognition is an important fundamental technology for estimating internal human states, with applications such as dialogue support and mental health assistance. However, EEG signals exhibit large inter-subject variability. This makes it difficult to accurately recognize emotions of unseen subjects when performing emotion recognition. To address this issue, this study proposes an integrated online learning method that combines a deep feature extractor incorporating gradient reversal-based domain adaptation with an online learning mechanism. This mechanism performs confidence-based sample selection and sample re-evaluation based on the distance between input features and class-wise feature distributions. Domain-adaptive feature extraction suppresses inter-subject feature distribution differences and learns representations effective for unseen subjects, leading to stabilized recognition performance. Subject-wise cross-validation confirms improvements in both accuracy and learning stability for new subjects. |
