This study proposes a protégé AI agent system that promotes learning by evaluating and diagnosing learners’ explanations in the background while maintaining an interactive experience that encourages learners to continue the act of teaching. The proposed system separates (i) a protégé agent that engages in dialogue on the surface—expressing gratitude and praise as a learner—and (ii) an evaluation agent that structures the learner’s explanations and generates feedback. The system is implemented using Mastra. In this paper, we compare Claude-, Gemini-, and OpenAI-family models and, based on their characteristics, report practical considerations and design implications for future implementations of the protégé AI agent system. |
