Due to the large size of point cloud data, limited bandwidths during transmission may affect the object detection task performance and potentially degrade them. Particularly in environments with limited communication resources, uniform data compression compromises critical object shape information, significantly degrading the detection accuracy of distant and small-scale objects. This paper proposes a feedback-based bandwidth allocation method to address this issue. It transmits object detection performance metrics from the server to the sensors and allocates optimal communication resources to each sensor accordingly. Furthermore, to realize this proposed method, we conduct a detailed analysis of how bitrate fluctuations using G-PCC compression affect detection accuracy. Simulation results reveal that detection performance strongly depends not only on object appearance frequency and category but also on the distance characteristics of objects. |
