This paper describes an automated segmentation method of surgical instruments and anatomical structures from laparoscopic videos using Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM2). Given the significant burden of laparoscopic surgery on surgeons, developing computer-aided support systems is crucial. Previous SAM2-based methods for extracting the left gastric vein (LGV) and pancreas regions face challenges, including the underutilization of other segmented areas and the heavy workload of creating training data. This study investigates an efficient automatic extraction method to alleviate the data preparation burden. Experimental results demonstrated a reduced workload, although certain classes remained difficult to extract. |
