Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study investigated a cognitive rehabilitation support system aimed at providing reflection opportunities during Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL). Focusing specifically on tidying behavior, we proposed a quantitative evaluation metric that automatically assesses the participants' cognitive functions based on information derived from behavioral video footage. The proposed metric is defined as a three-layer structure comprising cognitive characteristics, behavioral characteristics, and state variables, intended for use in evaluation and feedback generation within reflection support. To examine the validity of the proposed metric, a rehabilitation support experiment targeting tidying behavior was conducted. Simulated data were generated based on actual data obtained through manual analysis, and we constructed a Bayesian network. The comparison of model structures showed a tendency for models incorporating cognitive characteristics to demonstrate higher predictive performance on unseen data during inference . While the results of this study are limited to verification based on simulated data, they indicate the potential for automatic cognitive function assessment and reflection-based support based on tidying behavior. Future studies will focus on integrating automatic analysis using real data with generative AI–based feedback to enable practical deployment of the proposed rehabilitation support system.
