This paper reports on the application of weak robots to dementia care for the elderly. The objective of this research is to establish a method for dementia care that analyzes movement-promoting factors specific to the individual participant, incorporates these findings into the weak robot's movements, and encourages the participant’s movement by leveraging their protective instinct toward the robot.
The methodology involves constructing the robot, conducting trial demonstrations with the care recipient, analyzing their behavior, and then repeating the same process with improvements based on insights gained. We report our examination of this process and discuss the effectiveness and he issues of the proposed method in this paper. |
