In noncontact vital signs sensing using millimeter-wave radar, accurately estimating a subject’s position is important to precisely detect vital signals. Conventional methods have performed localization based on the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), where the respiratory frequency band is treated as the effective signal.
However, this approach is easily affected by noise components due to individual differences, such as variations in breathing depth.
In this study, we focus on the periodicity and stability of the respiratory component and propose a localization method based on an evaluation index derived from the distribution of instantaneous respiratory rate. |
