In a super-aging society,the early detection of cognitive impairment has become a critical challenge.Dual-task measurements,which impose higher cognitive loads than single-task conditions,have been shown to be effective for detecting cognitive impairment.In particular,dual-task protocols that combine arithmetic tasks with stepping movements have been widely investigated for the identification of mild cognitive impairment (MCI).On the other hand,cognitive decline has been reported to influence facial appearance and expressions.In this study,we investigate the effectiveness of facial expressions observed under high cognitive load,specifically during dual-task performance.Our results indicate that facial expressions under high cognitive load can distinguish individuals with cognitive impairment with an accuracy of approximately 70%. |
