An LLM-based Intent Transformation Method with a Requirement Definition Layer for Natural Language Requests in Network Operations

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The diversification of network requirements has significantly increased the complexity of network design, construc
tion, and operation. Autonomous network, which enables network control based on user intent, is therefore attracting growing
attention. In particular, allowing users to express intent in natural language facilitates requirement specification without special
ized technical knowledge. However, there is a leap between the natural language requests and network intent due to the difference
of their abstraction and purpose, making direct implementation challenging. To address these issues, we propose a novel method
that introduces a requirement definition layer prior to intent translation using large language models (LLMs). This layer interacts
as intermediate information between the users requests and network intent, thus improving translation accuracy. Experimental
results demonstrate that our method improves intent translation accuracy by 13.50% to 22.33% in the mobile scenario.
