Investigation of Worker Tracking Methods Using Omnidirectional Camera Images

(in English) In this report, we investigated worker tracking methods in a factory environment using an omnidirectional (fisheye) camera capable of capturing a wide area simultaneously with a single device. The RAPiD model was employed for human detection, and StrongSORT and ResNet50 were examined for person tracking based on the detection results. A comparative evaluation of tracking performance was conducted using a dataset collected in the target factory environment. In the tracking stage, it was shown that person tracking by StrongSORT became difficult for large distances between bounding boxes in consecutive frames. In contrast, the proposed method achieved an IDF1 score of 97.5% on a test dataset consisting of 3,599 frames. The proposed method identifies individuals based on image features extracted from bounding box, demonstrating that highly accurate worker tracking can be achieved.
