The agricultural sector is facing labor shortages and an aging farming population, making labor-saving and automation of farm work critical challenges. This research aims to develop a system in which drones automatically perform farm work in place of humans. We propose an agricultural digital twin that constructs a virtual space replicating a greenhouse field and performs simulation analysis of drone operations within that space. In this digital twin, we use acquired point cloud data to recreate a three-dimensional field space that includes crops. Within this virtual space, we calculate flight paths for simulated agricultural tasks and perform flight control simulations to verify operational stability and path validity. In this study, we targeted a field where tomatoes are actually being cultivated and, assuming drone pollination as an agricultural task, created flight paths and performed simulations for two operational modes: “search mode” and “pollination mode.” As a result, we verified the flight control along the created flight paths. |
