Analysis of Variations in Psychological Distance by Using a Relationship Visualization Simulator

(in English) This study examines a relationship visualization simulator (organization simulator) that incorporates interactions between individuals and the effects these interactions have on their surroundings, with the aim of detecting social isolation within organizations based on fluctuations in psychological distance.
Preliminary experiments depicting how third parties perceive changes in psychological distance through message exchanges between two individuals (A and B) revealed differences in perception based on positive/negative scripted interactions and individual profiles, as well as differences between male and female participants.
Furthermore, using data on shifts in psychological distance per script obtained from the preliminary experiment, we set individual characteristics and analyzed relationship fluctuations using the organizational simulator. This revealed that psychological distance either narrowed or widened depending on the script settings.
