In recent years, the realization of high-data-rate underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) has been anticipated to improve the efficiency of marine infrastructure development and marine surveys. However, for sensor data to be meaningful, location information is necessary. Therefore, underwater position estimation is required. However, RF (Radio Frequency) waves are greatly attenuated underwater, making it impossible to use GPS (Global Positioning System) for position estimation. Therefore, position estimation using visible light, which is less attenuated underwater, has been considered. Conventional visible light position estimation methods have used three-point positioning with multiple base stations. However, methods using multiple base stations require consideration of interference between them. Therefore, in this study, instead of using multiple base stations, we propose position estimation using an angle diversity receiver (ADR) that uses multiple photodiodes (PDs) for a single base station, and analyze the accuracy through simulation. |
