Permutation XOR Cellular Automata and Long Periodic Orbits: Analysis

(in English) Applying simple permutation connection to an elementary cellular automaton with XOR rule, the permutation XOR cellular automaton (PXCA) is constructed. The dynamics is described by an autonomous difference equation of binary state variables.Depending on the permutation connection, the PXCA can generate a variety of periodic orbits. This paper considers long binary periodic orbits (LBPOs) characterized by long period and strong stability. Performing precise numerical analysis, we clarify typical permutation connections that cause the LBPOs.Presenting an FPGA based hardware prototype, typical LBPOs are confirmed experimantray. The hardware is fundamantal step to realize various applications.
