(in English) The adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at construction sites has increased the demand for wireless localization to ensure worker safety and equipment management. However, indoor localization accuracy using received signal strength (RSS) is degraded by signal fluctuations caused by reflections and obstructions.
Although moving-average processing is known as an effective error mitigation technique, its effectiveness is limited when the target worker or equipment remains stationary. To address this issue, a localization scheme using movable antennas has been proposed, in which the antenna position is mechanically varied to improve localization accuracy in indoor environments. This presentation introduces a recently proposed indoor two-dimensional localization scheme using a 920 MHz LoRaWAN system and movable antennas. In the proposed scheme, a rotating antenna is installed at an anchor node, and localization is performed using either the moving average or the maximum value of the RSS measurements obtained during antenna rotation. Experimental results obtained in an indoor environment demonstrate that the proposed scheme can improve localization accuracy even when the target remains stationary.
