To defend against the misuse of image generation AI, this paper proposes an access control method for latent diffusion models (LDMs) that allows only authorized users with a secret key to generate high-quality images. LDMs cannot generate high-quality images unless the same initial noise distribution is used during both training and generation phases. Based on this characteristic, the proposed method formulates the noise distribution as a Gaussian with a non-diagonal covariance matrix and uses it as a secret key. Specifically, we design the obfuscated covariance matrix by applying an orthogonal transformation to a masked diagonal matrix, where the mask and the transformation matrix are used as secret keys. Our experiments on a face image dataset show that our method sufficiently suppresses the quality of generated images even when 95% of the secret key information is leaked, demonstrating its effectiveness and robustness. |
