| 抄録 | （和） | 英語の複合前置詞を、Quirk, Greenbaum らの定義に従い、「複数の語から成る前置詞」と定義する。単一の前置詞は多くは多義であるが、複合前置詞は一意である。複合前置詞は、文中において、前置詞句の構成でありながら一つの語として文法的な役割を果たす。要素に分割して扱うことはできない。複合前置詞は単一前置詞の多義を解消するための表現形態である。要素に分割して扱うことはできない。日本語の助詞も多義であるが、それを解消すべく複合辞が用意されている。複合前置詞と複合辞との対照という方法により、それぞれの特質が分かる。複合前置詞の核はほぼ外来語の抽象名詞であり、複合辞の核は和語動詞が顕著であるが、ともに明晰で精密な表現である。 |
| （英） | We have retrieved a lot of English complex prepositions and the like, and have compiled the database thereof. Our attention in this paper is focused on comparing English complex prepositions and Japanese complex particles. The comparison has clarified the similarity and distinction between them, and then have specified the respective characteristics in lexicon and syntax. We can indicate that both complexes increase the tendency of grammaticalization and are precise expressions in common. In contrast, we can remark that English complex prepositions have the foreign words, most of which are the French-derived or Latin-derived, as the core of the phrase, whereas Japanese complex particles have the native words, which are not derived from Chinese characters, as the core of the collocation. Referring to the database of the complexes, machine translation system will improve the accuracy of the translation results, by processing with the phrasal expression as a chunk. | |
