A Study on Evaluation Method of Cascaded Twisted Pair Cables

(in English) In-vehicle networks will be wired by cascading some short cables to enhance the
exibility. However,
cascaded cables may not be complied with the standard. Simple and high accuracy conformance test is expected
to evaluate the transmission characteristic of cascaded cables. In this manuscript, we propose conformance test
with scattering transfer matrix (T matrix) and fundamental matrix (F matrix) for cascaded twisted pair cables.
It is shown that the proposed method has high accuracy by comparing it with an analog mixed signal (AMS)
simulator. The evaluation is conducted with Sc1d1, Sc2d1, Sd2d1, longitudinal conversion loss (LCL), longitudinal
conversion transfer loss (LCTL) and attenuation (ATT) of evaluation harness. The proposed method will be simple
as compared with the simulator.
