| 抄録 | （和） | 発達性ディスレクシアとは、読み書きの能力に限定して生じる学習障害のことである。これには音韻処理能力に関する何らかの欠如が関わっているという見解が広く受け入れられてきたが、その実体は十分解明されているとは言えない。本稿では、ライム(VC)単位が調音されず、モーラ(CV)単位の過剰生産を特徴とする英語ディスレクシア児の読みの事例を基に、音韻認識の普遍的な構造について考察する。ライム志向言語である英語の読みにはライム認識が重要な役割を果たす一方で、モーラ志向言語である日本語の読みにはライム認識の概念自体が存在せず、この差が両言語における音韻性ディスレクシアの顕在化の差(英語では高く日本語では低い)につながっていることを示す。さらに、音韻枠の基本にモーラ構造があるとするモーラ基本説を強化し、その背景として、モーラは共時調音であり、人間が進化の過程で獲得したとされる同位相パターンに自然と切り替わる神経系の制約と関連性があることを提案する。英語の読みにはモーラからライムへの韻律構造の再編成が必要となり、この再編成に課せられる認知的負荷に耐える力の欠損にディスレクシアとの因果関係があると結論する。 |
| （英） | The neurobiological disorder called dyslexia is a specific learning disability that affects only literacy skills. It has been generally agreed that the reading disorder stems from a particular problem in language acquisition affecting phonological awareness. However, the exact nature of phonological awareness has not yet been all clear. On the basis of English dyslexic reading marked by an overproduction of mora(CV)-units in the absence of rhyme(VC)-units, this article explores the universal structure of phonological awareness. It demonstrates that rhyme-awareness plays a key role in reading rhyme-oriented languages such as English, whereas the concept of rhyme-awareness itself is irrelevant in mora-oriented, rhymeless languages such as Japanese, and that this difference correlates with seemingly mysterious discrepancy in the prevalence of dyslexic population between the English speaking world and the Japanese speaking world. Moreover, the article strengthens the mora-basic hypothesis that mora, which is formed by coarticulation, is the elementary frame of language. It is suggested that the mora-basic hypothesis conforms to a human neurological restriction inclined toward a synchronized behavior. | |
