Real-Time Reconstruction Processing in Lensless Light-Field Camera

(in English) We have been developing a lensless light-field imaging with Fresnel zone aperture (FZA) in front of an image sensor. This imaging method can reconstruct the original object image by using 2D FFT which is known as a calculation requiring low computing power. In this configuration, the larger the number of sensor pixels is, the more the resolution of the reconstructed image improves; however, the higher computing power will be required. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a computational complexity reduction method and a parallel computing method with graphics processing units (GPU) to realize a real-time reconstruction processing. As the result, feasibility of the methods was experimentally confirmed by using a prototype which can reconstruct an image from a 4M-pixel sensor image at over 30 fps.
