Non-Volatile DIMM (NVDIMM), which has the speed comparable to DRAM DIMM, is lately available and being introduced into various computer systems. Since NVDIMM has both high memory capacity and non-volatility that are not achievable in DRAM DIMM, it is expected that there are many opportunities to develop novel computer systems with NVDIMM. In this paper, we propose a new system for analyzing memory snapshot with NVDIMM. The proposed system is to analyze the memory snapshot remaining in an NVDIMM removed from another computer system, and serves a way of safe access to the NVDIMM. We implemented the proposed system with memory hotplug that is a functionality of Linux, and confirmed that our system works properly. |
