Narrative Destination from a survey of linguistic landscapes in New York -- with the focus on “YOU” --

(in English) In July 2022, I conducted a linguistic landscape in New York City (Midtown, Manhattan). The digital signage displays a large amount of information that is more than the space available, as what is visible now will be posted differently in a few minutes' time. The use of QR codes is often seen on paper media postings, and the development of information that cannot be contained within the visible space is beyond the visible space. This is the linguistic landscape of the information society. These differences in posting media are not limited to differences in means, but are also linked to differences in the content, the people to whom the notices are directed and the treatment of the 'place'.
